Bio-filler (Plasma Gel): filler from your own blood for shallow lines and skin rejuvenation
Bio-filler is a gel made from your own blood plasma, heated so the proteins set into a gel. It fills shallow lines and improves skin quality with nothing from outside the body, but it lasts less long than HA filler and needs 2–3 sessions.

What bio-filler is
After drawing 20–40 ml of blood and centrifuging it, the plasma obtained contains the proteins albumin and fibrinogen. When this plasma is heated to around 60–70 °C and then cooled in a dedicated device, the proteins change structure and bind into a clear, viscous gel known as plasma gel or bio-filler. The remaining plasma, rich in platelets (PRP), is mixed back in or injected alongside so that its growth factors stimulate the skin at the same time. The resulting gel therefore both fills lightly and rejuvenates, and is an option for people who want no synthetic material of any kind in their body.
Who it suits
Shallow folds and fine lines
Shallow nasolabial folds, marionette lines and lines around the mouth that need only a little filling
Thin under-eye skin
Fills shallow tear troughs and improves the skin in people unsuited to HA or worried about a bluish tint
Backs of the hands and neck
Crepey skin with visible tendons that needs filling and rejuvenation at the same time
Allergy-prone people, or anyone who wants nothing from outside the body
Because it is protein from your own blood, allergic reactions are very rare
Procedure (about 60–90 minutes)
Bio-filler compared with HA filler
| Point | Bio-filler (plasma gel) | HA filler |
|---|---|---|
| Source | Protein from your own blood | Thai FDA-registered synthetic HA |
| Lifting capacity | Low; suits shallow lines | Firmness can be chosen to reshape the chin, nose and jawline |
| Duration | 3–6 months per session; 2–3 sessions may last longer thanks to the collagen built | 9–18 months |
| Allergy | Very rare | Rare |
| Can it be dissolved? | Breaks down naturally; no specific enzyme | Dissolvable with hyaluronidase |
| Predictability | Depends on each person's plasma quality and each batch | More predictable |
Bio-filler is not a substitute for HA filler in facial contouring. Its lifting capacity is low and the body absorbs it within 3–6 months. After the first session the fullness is clear for 1–2 weeks and then partly reduces, so 2–3 sessions 4–6 weeks apart are needed, and you should expect roughly half the effect of the same volume of HA. Swelling is greater than with HA, lasting 2–4 days. Not for people with blood disorders, low platelets, cancer under active treatment, an infection, anaemia, pregnancy or blood thinners. Cleanliness of the process is critical, and the clinic uses fully closed single-use kits

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does bio-filler last?
Usually 3–6 months per session. After 2–3 sessions, the extra collagen the skin builds may extend the overall result to around a year, but not as long as HA.
Can I use bio-filler for my chin or nose?
We do not recommend it. The gel is too soft for reshaping that needs lifting capacity. A firm HA product should be used instead.
Can I be allergic to it?
Because it is protein from your own blood, allergy is very rare. There is still a chance of swelling, bruising or infection at the injection points, as with any injection.
