Needle-free vitamin and HA infusion with electroporation and ultrasound

The upper skin layer is a barrier that most skincare struggles to cross. Vitamin infusion uses electrical pulses or ultrasound to open temporary channels so vitamins, HA and peptides reach the dermis in far greater amounts than topical application, with no needles.

Why topical skincare penetrates so little

The stratum corneum is only 10–20 microns thick but is an excellent barrier. Molecules larger than 500 daltons, such as HA, peptides and water-soluble vitamins, pass through with difficulty, so a serum applied to the skin acts mainly on the surface. The clinic uses three techniques to carry actives deeper without piercing the skin: electroporation (Bright Deep), ultrasound phonophoresis (Ultra-Hydrating) and Deep Fusion, which combines both with cooling. Studies generally find that these techniques increase penetration markedly compared with topical application, although the amount that actually reaches the skin depends on the substance and on each person's skin.

The three techniques we use

TechniqueHow it worksSuitable activesSuits
Bright Deep (electroporation)Short electrical pulses briefly open channels between cells. No direct current, so no stinging and no limit on the charge of the activeVitamin C, B-complex vitamins, tranexamic acid, peptidesDull skin, dark marks, early lines
Ultra-Hydrating (phonophoresis)1–3 MHz ultrasound vibrates the skin so actives work their way in, with gentle warmth that aids circulationHigh-concentration HA, ceramides, brightening agentsDry, dehydrated skin, melasma, freckles, the eye area
Deep FusionElectrical pulses + ultrasound + alternating cold tip, spreading actives evenly and reducing rednessA vitamin and HA cocktail prepared by the doctorTired skin, after lasers, before an important event

The treatment day

Cleansing and gentle exfoliationA jet peel or mild exfoliant thins the stratum corneum that blocks absorption
The doctor selects the activesThe vitamins and HA used are properly registered topical products, not injectables
Infusion for 15–20 minutesThe handpiece is moved across the whole face. You feel only a light vibration or slight warmth, with no pain
Mask and LEDFinished with a mask containing the same actives, and red LED to reduce redness and aid recovery

Who it suits

  • Dry, dehydrated skin on which make-up looks patchy
  • Dull, uneven skin tone and dark marks left by acne
  • Fine lines and skin that lacks firmness
  • Wanting intensive nourishment without needles, whether from needle anxiety or limited time
  • Restoring skin after lasers or heavy sun exposure
How it differs from mesotherapy or skin boosters

Vitamin infusion does not pierce the skin, so there are no needle marks or bruising and you can return to work immediately. However, less of the active reaches the dermis than with injection, and the effect is shorter-lived, making it well suited to ongoing care every 1–2 weeks. If you want deep hydration that lasts several months, a doctor-injected skin booster is the better fit.

Not suitable if you

Have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device (for the electrical technique), have metal implants in the treatment area, are pregnant, have open wounds, cold sores or many pustular acne lesions, are allergic to any ingredient used, or have uncontrolled epilepsy

Frequently Asked Questions

Does vitamin infusion hurt? Is there an electric shock?

No. Electroporation uses extremely short pulses, so you feel only a light vibration, unlike traditional iontophoresis, which can sting because of the direct current. The ultrasound feels slightly warm.

When will I see results?

Hydration and smoothness are visible immediately and over the following 2–3 days. Skin tone and fine lines need 4–6 regular sessions. Results vary from person to person.

Which actives are used?

Vitamin C, B vitamins, tranexamic acid, HA, peptides and ceramides, in the form of properly registered topical products. The doctor chooses the formula for your concern and explains it before treatment.

Can it be combined with lasers?

Yes. It is often done straight after a laser on the same day to reduce redness and restore hydration, except after deep resurfacing lasers, where the skin should be allowed to close first.
